About the event
THE WIZ … AGAIN
RETOLD BY LEAH HARVIN-ODOM
Dorothy and Toto are twin brother and sister, who live in Harlem. They are graduating high school and are the first in their family to break the generational curse and go away to Lincoln University, in Oxford Pennsylvania, the first historically black college. Their Auntie Em is throwing them a going away block party celebration on June 19th. She warns them that a storm is coming and to come home before the storm. Dorothy and Toto lose track of time and get caught in the storm. They are whisked away to downtown Manhattan also known as OZ and there begins their journey back home to Harlem. First they meet the Brainless Scarecrow, who wishes he was smart enough to go to college, then they meet the Heartless Tinman who wishes he could find a something to love as much as they want school, finally they meet the Cowardly Lion who wishes he had the courage to go away to school and pursue his dreams. “There’s no place like Harlem!” Hope you enjoy!
